How To Get Pale Ore Hollow Knight Locations

In Team Cherry's masterpiece Hollow Knight, upgrading your primary weapon is essential to overcoming the brutal challenges of Hallownest. To push your nail to its maximum potential, you must track down six pieces of a rare, dense metal scattered throughout the crumbling kingdom. Finding every single piece of Pale Ore requires a mixture of keen exploration, conquering tough bosses, and assisting the strange residents of this underground world.

Environmental Discoveries in Hallownest

Two of the six ores can be found waiting in dangerous, isolated corners of the map for daring explorers. Adventurers scaling the dizzying heights of the Crystal Peak can find a hidden piece of metal guarded at the very top of the mountain peak in the Hallownest's Crown area. Another piece is tucked away deep inside the Ancient Basin, located just to the left of the main tram station where players must defeat two Lesser Mawleks to claim it.

Overcoming Dangerous Underground Foes

Braving the terrifying, claustrophobic tunnels of Deepnest is required if you want to secure another essential upgrade material. Hidden behind a breakable wall near the hot spring lies the lair of Nosk, a terrifying mimic boss that forces players into a tense duel. Defeating this shapeshifting creature rewards you with a valuable piece of ore hidden deep within its nest of victims.

Assisting the Citizens of the Ruined Kingdom

The final three pieces of Pale Ore are tied closely to the unique side quests offered by various non-player characters. The Seer in the Resting Grounds will award you a piece once you collect 300 Essence using your Dream Nail. Meanwhile, rescuing enough lost Grubs will prompt the grateful Grubfather to toss down a reward, and surviving the brutal trials inside the Colosseum of Fools will yield the final piece.
